Compounding the Impact: Train-the Trainer Urban Forestry Education

This project will advance the field of green infrastructure and sustainable urban ecosystem development through train-the-trainer education. The University of Georgia will train Extension Agents throughout the southeast and provide them with an educational module to use in their counties.

The teaching module developed parallels the mission of the NUCFAC and is designed for use in the Master Gardener Program. This project addresses two key groups, County Extension Agents and Master Gardeners. By training the trainers (County Agents) our efforts will ramify throughout the communities as they, in turn, train Master Gardeners who will in turn, train others. On the recommendation of the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council, the USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Program awarded a $64,426 grant to the $128,852 project.
